**Serge’s Story**

Serge El Khazen didn’t start out as a baker — but he has always been driven by quality, hard work, and a love for bringing people together around good food.

With more than 25 years of experience in the automotive industry and over a decade in the restaurant business, Serge built a strong foundation in operations, customer service, and entrepreneurship. He later took ownership of Piccolo Italian Market & Deli in Sarasota, where he focused on fresh, authentic Italian products and personal service.

In 2025, Serge brought that same passion to Breadsmith of Bradenton. Today he owns and operates the bakery, baking European-style artisan breads the traditional way — from scratch, with simple ingredients, and in a true stone hearth oven. He also personally leads the popular Sunday bread-making classes, teaching others the craft he has come to love.

For Serge, Breadsmith is more than a bakery. It’s a place where quality still matters, where neighbors become regulars, and where the simple act of sharing fresh bread builds community.
