Joy identified a significant issue in patient care: the difficulty and discomfort experienced by both patients and caregivers during patient maneuvering. This issue brought Joy to the creation of the RollEZ Lift, a solution designed to prevent hospital-acquired conditions (HACs) such as bedsores and pneumonia, which are among the leading causes of premature death. Hospitals are being fined large sums of money for hospital acquired conditions. With the RollEZ Lift, hospitals, caregivers, and loved ones can mitigate these risks, reducing the likelihood of penalties associated with HACs. Additionally, this innovation enables families to care for their loved ones at home, potentially avoiding the need for nursing home placement.
The RollEZ Lift is designed to enable effortless maneuvering of patients of all sizes, up to 350lbs., Without the use of draw sheets and without the use of uncomfortable attachments. This innovation ensures that patients are handled with care and dignity, avoiding any sense of being treated like an object.
The RollEZ Lift utilizes centrifugal force and leverage rather than brute force, assisting caregivers in moving and lifting individuals on a bed without physical strain. Our goal is to empower anyone in a caregiving role by providing the confidence to perform advanced tasks that might otherwise be challenging without the RollEZ Lift. This product is designed to enhance the caregiving experience, ensuring that both the caregiver and the patient are treated with the utmost care and dignity.
Nurses and caregivers are traditionally trained to use bed sheets for mobilizing patients, a method that demands significant physical effort and can lead to considerable strain over time. This standard practice can exhaust and weaken caregivers, affecting their ability to provide consistent, quality care.
Recognizing these challenges, we designed the RollEZ Lift to address the physical burdens associated with daily patient maneuvering. According to OSHA, "nurse injuries due to musculoskeletal issues lead to significant costs, including $20 billion annually for back injuries alone. This problem also results in pain, disability, and high turnover rates". (OSHA Publication 3108, (February 2014). Our innovative solution aims to alleviate the strain on caregivers, ensuring they can perform their duties more efficiently and with greater ease, ultimately enhancing the overall caregiving experience.
